I came across this on the Odalys owners/resale website
http://www.odalys-patrimoine.com/faq/fin-de-bail-commercial. aspx
It seems to indicate that even though the lease is normally for 9 years and automatically renews that you can terminate it after 3 or 6 years by giving the appropriate notice and having a good reason..
Selling, wanting to live in the apartment, a genuine reason ie non payment of rent by the tenant....
It even gives you the format for the letter to send to cancel the lease.,
No mention of any of the nasty end of lease compensation issues we've hears about
Given that this is on the Odalys website. I wonder could we take this as a the "offical" line from Odalys.
My french is not brilliant so I may have missed some key point.,...

PS..there is another interesting page here which does mention a
une indemnité d’éviction.
which doesnt sound too good!!!

Odalys - Terminating a lease
5 April 2010It also says the letter must be sent by a bailiff.
How do you do this?. Would it be ignored if you don't use one?
What development is your leaseback?
