Eurogroup have decreased the amount of rent...
I didn't agree to this but I assume a decision was taken by the management company on my behalf.
I have already stopped looking for the INSEE increase that was agreed in the lease but I can't understand how they can do this without the express permission of the owners.
Does anybody have any info on this?

Are you sure the decrease isnt the deduction of the annual buildings insurance?

14 April 2010Your lease/contract its with eurogroup, a third party cannot take a decision on your behalf. You are legally entitled to the INSEE increase

14 April 2010Brama,
As John says this quarters rent is lower because of the annual insurance charge (about €100). The rent was reduced by a similar amount last year. We own a property on the development and have not had a reduction in April.
We too gave up on getting the full 22.4% INSEE increase as Eurogroup threatened to pull out of the contract at the 3 year break point.

14 April 2010Oh dear, you're probably right.
I was concerned because Gerimmo sent me a report investigating rental values that appears to have been sponsored by Eurogroup.
Did anybody else receive this? I got it yesterday.
Thanks for your help.

14 April 2010I received the document too and like you thought that it appeared to be making a case for reducing the rent. However, I was told by Gerimmo that it was 'for information only' so we shall have to wait and see. I think some owners are probably still holding out for the full INSEE increase and it is perhaps more aimed at them than us.

Well thanks for replying. It was helpful.
Could I ask on a completely separate note - I agreed to take four weeks per year for personal use. Do you think it is possible to sell back those four weeks for additional rent at this stage?
I'm finding that we don't use the apartment much these days and often only make it over once a year.
Thanks again.

15 April 2010You could ask the question but given how Eurogroup are complaining about how the financial situation is hitting them I would be surprised if they agreed to pay a higher rent in return for more off-season capacity as I assume they have too much of this already.
