I purchased an apartment in chatel in October 2016. There was a difference of c €2000 between the net (ex vat) price quoted and the amount that
i actually paid. I had been told that there would be a difference and that I would be refunded the difference after completion.
So far I have been unable to work out how to get this money refunded, I have asked MGM, Audex and the solicitor that worked for me but I'm still
not sure how to get it. Wonder if anyone has the same experience or better a solution !

This is normal with all
2 March 2017This is normal with all purchases of French property, not just leaseback. I think it is to ensure there is enough to cover all taxes eg if the rate went up (but I'm not sure that's the reason). The notaire will refund it automatically. It may take several months but you don't have to do anything. I have bought 3 French properties, one of which was leaseback (I didn't keep them all). This happened every time. The refund came automatically from the notaire (sometimes long after I had forgotten I was due it!)

Thanks for the response, I
5 March 2017Thanks for the response, I purchased 16 months ago so I had thought I would have received the refund by now, but at least I'm more confident that
i will get it some time !
