I am new to this site and was very glad to find it.
Have been thinking about a leaseback property in the Alps for a few months - we are a family of four who love to ski but our holidays seem to be going up and up in price. We have some buy to lets in the UK bought specifically to enable us to buy in France on retirement (about 10 years). However 10 years seems a long time so we thought - cunning plan- use some equity in out investments and get a leaseback. Found one we fancy in La Toussuire with ideal usage but having browsed this site I am now terrified! How can I find out about the developer and selling agents (UK overseas.com) to find out if they are reputable companies? How can we protect ourselves - we dont want to lose our retirement fund to some cowboy company! Thanks

2 January 2008Thanks for the reply. The managing agent concerned is Lagrange Prestige and I have heard that they are one of the bigger companies in France.
Does anyone out there own a leaseback managed by this company and if so how have you found them?

8 April 2008Jenny,
Myself an a friend used a company in London named (advertising not allowed). They have bent over backwards and gone "Above and beyond" for us several times already. I cannot recommend them enough. Right from the start they took the time to answer all our concerns and questions in person when we travelled to London. Give their website a browse.

24 April 2008The document is called "Avis de Dissolution" and is about LVR.
M Ramos dismissed himself of his position of manager of LVR in February (15th). He is replaced by Mr Baudry who has been nominated as the new manager of LVR, while Mr Ramos is now the director of the company (employed). Mr Ramos still owns shares of LVR.
The headquarter is currently being transferred to <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Paris (5 rue Danielle Casano, St Denis) however it is a fake address. LVR is being sold to a company called 57 Casanova.
The name of the manager of 57 Casanova seems to be Mr Isaac Dahan, which runs around 40 companies... so there is something really strange behind all that.
There is a publication (11th of April 08) in an official Journal (Journal officiel d'annonces legales) saying that the company LVR is being dissolved (dissolution de societe)
