Last November Eurogroup Vacances refused to allow one of the owners access to their home as they said that the site was closed and when the owner said they were arriving anyway, they found that the company had changed the locks and refused them a key! The company claim that under the lease the owners have no right to a key and cannot occupy their homes when Eurogroup Vacances staff are not on site. They are now refusing to allow owners in the leaseback scheme to access their properties this Easter if they want to come before 31 March. After over 10 years of this leaseback and letting arrangements being in place, we don’t understand why they have now started to get tough? Furthermore, we can’t see how they can legally deny owners access to their own homes when the company are not using the homes? Has anyone else experienced this type of action from their “tenants” under the leaseback scheme?
