Mortgage Arrangement Fee

Hi there,

What is the typical mortgage fixed fee and what is the best one can typically negotiate with the bank. I paid €6,000 EUR via the notary on my last property as some kind of fee from Barclays for creating the mortgage.

Also, have been quoted 3.95% by a bank for a fixed 10 year rate - how competitive is this?

the 6000 cant have been the arrangement fee - its almost certainly a tax to the french govt based on the mortgage amount - clients often mistake this for an arrangement fee

typical arrangement fee should be 1000 euros / 1% but there are cheaper and more expensive deals about

3.95 is pretty good - best ive seen is 3.75
