I had to register and post this to assist other owners of leasebacks in
France. I have been an owner of several years. Rasidhotel is taking the
biscuit in how not to treat their customers.i.e. Us the owners of the props.
My own experience:
They pay the rent as and when it suits them.
The French law is with them as it's heavily loaded against landlords which
we all are and they are the tenants so will get total favour & protection.
To take any sort of court action in France is damn expensive and they know
it so they abuse this to their advantage. I can sue anyone in UK over the
internet for less then 100 GBP ? Not here in France.
They refuse to abide by the signed contract as they know that there is no
remedy available to the owners.
They dont pay the contractual rent or any increase on this although its
written in the contract on the basis that economy is not good. French law
will protect them and you cant even evict them if its the winter.
They never ever respond to ANY correspondence as they know there is
nothing we can do.
French leaseback is great on paper and its great if you have a reputable
management company but if you have a shower and arrogant company like
Rasihotel, then god help us.
They are so arrogant that I believe they treat their owners with disdain and
total lack of respect. They are in serious financial trouble and I just hope
that one of us actually gets them to go under by suing the pants of them
and taking them to task and of course the court for this.
In fact come to think of it we should really take it in turns and protest
against them at our properties by the reception so their Revenue is seriously
affected and this will actually be the death of them. If you organised that
one of us is in the reception, with a Banner telling customers how we have
been treated, this will drive trade away and I believe with a serious dent in
their income, they can not survive.
Sorry to go on but this has really got me going.
