I am looking into Leaseback seriously for the first time, there appear to be horror stories aplenty but are there any good news stories? Is it all doom and gloom, should I run a mile (or kilometre) from anything to do with Leaseback.....

11 Décembre 2009I suggest you go and purchase a pair of running shoes and start running.
It appears the only people who make any monies from Leasebacks are the developers, the sales agents, the banks, the notaires, the tax consultants, the French revenue, the furnishers of apartments, the management companies and then back to the notaires when you go looking for your long overdue rent. They are a disaster (yes I do generalise here but I have read too many bad stories).
P.S. I have no doubt I have left out many other beneficiaries above (there's also the fumigators, the electricians et al and these are all after the purchase)

11 Décembre 2009You won,t here any favourable leaseback stories on the forums, because ther,e arnt any!.
If when i was buying my leasebacks 8 years ago,i could have read some these horror stories,i would have ran a mile, and you should too!
all these vested interest, commission driven parasites have ruined which on paper should have been a good investment and a holiday home.

30 Décembre 2009I bought a leaseback over 4 years ago. It works fine for me. i receive the rent every 3 months.
After paying expenses the return on investment is about 4%. Of course you could get the same return from a different investment.
Is my capital investment secure ? So far, yes. I have looked at leaseback resale sites and the asking prices are above what I paid originally.

11 Janvier 2010Yes, I too would be very interested to have the web addresses of any leaseback resale sites that deal with more than the occasional single resale.
