hi,

Just back from a lovely week in les jardins du golfe in Plan de la tour.(didnt see any of the usual owners over there this time so a couple of points to note for fellow owners:

1. New receptionist in place....seems friendly

2. toilets at poolside now closed..no idea why

3. New electronic gates seem to be working well but one of the entrances open permanently..not sure why

4. Occupancy levels down a lot on this time last year place is about 30% full compared to 80% this week last year..this seems to be the place everywhere i.e. St Tropez much much quieter this year.

5. new apartment complex being sold across the road beside the garage but despite being advertised for about a year there is no sign of building starting

6. 3 new eating establishements in the village including a sushi bar.

7. lots of building and renevotation work going on in the village..

With the lease up next June keen to see if anyone is planning to break or extend their lease..and for those planning to extend how long before we have to pay for new furniture? and whats the chance of negotiating a better deal next time around... i.e an extra week in high season or more rent...? if there were a group of us acting together we might be able to get a better deal...

get in touch

D

Hi Woody,

All the usual owners were out the week before!

Yes the new Manageress,Diane is helpful and friendly!

I asked about the toilets being locked, she said they were using it for storage! Not good enough really!

The place was jammed packed the two weeks prior,we had to park in the village car park opposite two nights!

Yes not much happening with new appartments!

I niticed the new bars, the more the merrier!

I viewed some of the new plots, there is lots going on!

I don't think there will any extras goodies at renewal date!

In this climate, where a large number of management companies are not paying the rent or asking for reductions we have to be thankful that we have been paid, although late, for the last 9 years!

regards

John

Hi Woody - sorry we haven't met (or at least I don't think we have ) but we have an apartment below John. Hello John - Hope all's well !

We returned on 25th June from Plan de La Tour and had a great couple of weeks. Each year we are more impressed with the site and I think the new road outside is actually a great addition and provides much better access.

The village was very busy during our time there and we were made very welcome by the hosts of a couple of restaurants. The appartments were pretty quit this time but as John says I think we we must have missed most of the owners by the time we came this year.

Dianne really friendly and the pool was great - the place gets better

Look forward to how Odalys want to approach the renewal next year but happy to stay in touch.Perhaps we should introduce each other at our next visit !?

All the best

Paul

Hi Paul

That makes at least 4 of us. I know a dublin owner well.

if we stick together we may get a better deal from Odalys assuming they view this as a "profitable" location for them.. if not they are likely to play hardball.

I notice that there are 7 or 8 apartments for sale at the moment so curious to know if they will sell.

I wonder if and when we will be on the hook to replace the furniture...That will be a big expense probably close to 2 years rent. also the place will have to be repainted soon and that wont be cheap

keep in touch,, hoping this website will get the upgrade that has been promised soon. happy to pay something for a forum where owners can meet.
