I am an owner at Les Demeures de Ventoux residence in Provence, constructed and operated by Village Center with Opaleo as the management company.
We recently received the years accounts from Opaleo and notice of the AGM in December. At the back of this was a couple of items on the agenda which have caused me concern. The first was that Opaleo was seeking authorisation into investigating the possibility of installing airconditioning into the houses, the second was the proposal to place a metal provencal gazebo on the private terraces to provide shade during the summer months. An estimate for each terrace was given along with a rather crap photo. The estimate was around the 2000 Euro mark. I consider this grossly inflated given that similar gazebo can be obtained from Leroy Merlin and the such like for a fraction of this.
My query is whether Village Center / Opaleo can force us to purchase these items. The properties were constructed to an agreed spec, and paid for 2 years ago and have been running smoothly since up to this point.
